Well in that case get a spark in to move it to where you like, best option would be to get some nice down light fitted.

If your buying it try to get an electrical installation certificate or electrical installation condition report from the seller.

Downlights in a bedroom not good. Lying in bed looking up at a downlight is not nice.

RE, electrical installation report. Normally surveys are up to the buyer to obtain.
