Hi All,

Sorry to jump straight in with a question but not sure where to start. I’m basically looking for a portable solar option around 100W to cover all bases:

  • Increase my boat’s solar capacity (it came with a 100W panel wired in but I’ve since upped my battery draw).
  • Use on the car to keep that topped up while in lockdown and later when adding a leisure battery to go car camping.
  • Take camping to charge laptop and phones daily.

From this it seems like one of those ready made portable kits (such as this: View: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Dokio-Monocrystalline-foldable-Inverter-Controller/dp/B078W4HY9T/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?crid=3D91CKM1N3Z7Z&dchild=1&keywords=dokio+solar+panel+kit&qid=1587403795&sprefix=dokio+%2Cindustrial%2C162&sr=8-1-spons&psc=1&spLa=ZW5jcnlwdGVkUXVhbGlmaWVyPUFZMFlYQUc4WVpIR1kmZW5jcnlwdGVkSWQ9QTA5NjAzMTAzTVJCQlo5U0JJVDk0JmVuY3J5cHRlZEFkSWQ9QTA2MjU4NzUyWkZJNUxKM1JQSDI3JndpZGdldE5hbWU9c3BfYXRmJmFjdGlvbj1jbGlja1JlZGlyZWN0JmRvTm90TG9nQ2xpY2s9dHJ1ZQ==
_) should do the trick, as both the boat and car use standard flooded lead acid batteries (which I assume their designed for) and it has USB for charging devices. If so does anyone have any recommendations as to which brand is best? I’m guessing as long as I connect direct to battery on the boat it wont interfere with the existing panel/controller?

Cheers,

Tim
