EMERGENCY FIRST AID AT WORK

so do I need to do a 2391 as i've already qualified in testing and inspecting through my nvq or do I need to do one of those part p courses? or neither of them?!

oooorrrrr am I literally qualified enough to register with one of the bodies right now, ooorrrr am I classed as a competent person and don't need to? cant really find this info definitely so would appreciate it :)

many thanks

Need to do the part p course and join a scam. They normally give you 12 months to get your 2394/5. Just pay your fee and you're good to go

so they provisionally sign you up and you agree to take the exam?

is it still possible to do that course but not join one of these companies, and just notify a local council when you have completed notifiable work? as this seems to be getting less and less of the jobs anyway?

also i spotted this course c&g 2393 what is this for?

thanks guys

You don't need the 2391 - as it doesn't exist any more, nor do you need the 2394 or 2395. If you speak to Napit don't get fooled by the Napit N2391

If you are planning on doing "domestic" work you WILL need to be Part P registered. I'd suggest you contact elecsa, get one of their packs and they have useful checklists.

Out of interest, have you done a list of expenses you'll need to pay out, plus can you live without a salary for a few months???

see i didn't think i need to do these 2394/5 either as it clearly says on my nvq which i completed 4 years ago that i can test inspect and commission?

i have indeed got a list of expenses together :) luckily my partner works which takes a little strain off the initial setting up

keep the advice coming please :)

How much have you allowed for marketing?

are you sure jumping on the part p bandwagon is the right direction for you ?
with those quals & experience you'll get a jib gold card no problem , if you havent already got one.

and from there you can get stuck into a bit of everything through agancies , eg
commercial and light industrial installation work , facilities maintainence , building services....
a nice bit of variety there , and it will give you a taste of being self employed without the burden and costs of becoming a domestic part p sole trader , with simple accounts and a nice tax return each year.

Correct me if im wrong but NVQl3 doesn't class as a testing qual?

No you don't need 2394/2395 but heaven forbiden you do something wrong, and someone gets hurt you'll be off to jail.

wtf are you on about now ?
go to jail ? i'm assuming you were joking ?

Obviouslly lol.

I was making the point that everyone should undertake the courses. Appologies for the North Yorkshire humour me old mucka!

Don't do it. Get subbing with a JIB gold card as said before on commercial sites. Domestic is on its arse!!

My jib card expired have to do a health and safety course to renew aparantly I'm confused on the nvq front as I have a sheet of the certificate saying inspect test and commission? And although not a sol equal I was assessed on testing for it . Domestic is kinda the route I want to go for as it's what I like doing

The test on the NVQ means bigger all really you still need the 94 95, well get it done then for the sake of 35 quid and renew your card.

You do need 2394/5 to remain in NAPIT they give you 12 months I think but won't list you for testing unless you have it. If you don't get it they threaten to boot you out but whether they would I don't know. Personally I've applied to transfer to NICEIC in dec as found NAPIT pretty poor. And second the NAPIT 2394/5. It's blue flame not c and g. Costs 500 notes, open book and guaranteed pass. Only recognised by plumbers hence the bf and NAPIT
