Discuss New Phase Rotation Meter. in the Electrical Tools and Products area at ElectriciansForums.net

Megger seem to be producing good quality affordable products recently, will be my choice in the future i think when work picks up

i use my fluke 1652. works fine. also got an earth electrode tester built in.

My 1653 does that too but, I dont like bringing it out when fault finding on machines etc, in a minging old factory where everything is covered in oil & grease etc.

Just want a small unit to keep in the toolbag.

The megger does that just right.

Hate dirty tools me, after a filthy shift I'm usually found in the back of the van surrounded by a pile of industrial hand wipes cleaning all me tools.:rolleyes4:

Just this morning, I've been in the shed with the wire wheel in the drill cleaning up all me shifters, footprints & pipe grips etc. VERY SAD I know.:goofy:

That is sad but neccesary! I can tell your properly self employed, I do mine on site in works time. I periodically give everything a dose of WD40, and like you, give everything a wipe. My bugbear is wet tools, which seems to happen every time I do plumbing/pipe fitting. Often there's no bleed valve for pressure switches or transducers, so I always fit them with water flowing. I get a little wet, but at least I have 100% confidence in the readings.
