Packing everything up at the end of a hard day has to be one of the worst parts of the job eh.

I think how quickly you go through a roll is an indication or gauge of 'busyness', you get quite low then before you remember to buy more there's only a short length left [the plastic bag will be long gone by now] which has found its way into your toolbox, closely followed by digging around for a little bit to finish a job, usually hiding down the bottom of your tools and quite grubby- then you get a new roll.

And isn't the quality of sleeving generally rubbish these days - often really thin and it always kinks - I use 3mm bore 95% of the time, the nicest stuff I've found recently is from Screwfix.

I hate hanks of sleeving. Always try and get a drum if I can.
the boss doesnt but it anymore because we all just cut sections off it instead of finding the end to annoy him XD.

The challenge is to only have two ends to it throughout its service life. :laugh3:

make a plywood H to wind it on with a hole of about the same size as the sleeving to put the loose end in

new vans are not worth the money.... wont be more reliable than something second hand with 50k miles on the clock and looked after.
don't have to cry a lot when you scratch the bodywork too :-)

for sleeving i cut mine into a toolbag length pieces and bunch it up with a rubber band.

How will a 50k van be more reliable than A new one?" Ridiculous
what he is saying is a brand new factory van isnt necessarily a lot more reliable than an ex lease that has done 20-50k

And usually if it is a new model all the built in gremlins have been sorted out.
You only have to look at the recall list on a lot if new vehicles.
