Discuss NICEIC Registered Electrician in the Certification NICEIC, NAPIT, Stroma, BECSA Forum area at ElectriciansForums.net

more than a decent MFT.

Is that a multi faceted thief Tel? NAPIT, which is my scheme, now have some kind of preferential scheme whereby you pay --- amount on top of your fees to get job leads. Irks me that all scheme members are no longer on an equal footing. They are becoming a jack of all trades, insurance, over priced online 'trade' shops, and now they have stepped into the dodgy realm of checkatrade/trustatrade etc etc..

If it's just for self assessment scheme for compliance with part P Building control then Stroma is the cheapest .The question you've got to ask is to pay out the cost of being a NICEIC Approved Contractor will it pay dividends in gaining you work as your a approved contractor.

Yet lots of people still pay and sign up to these absolute rip off merchants!

It's a total joke imo.

Wasn't aware of that; Certsure send out emails about tools, insurance etc. Doubt its any cheaper. These bodies should just be restricted to the core business, but I suppose 'cos they are a business, they're in it to make money.

The NICEIC used to be years ago all they had was the approved contractors scheme and it was considered that be employing a NICEIC contractor the work was guaranteed to a high standard /compliance with the regulations. It has had to introduce the domestic installer scheme due to the introduction of Part P ,it has also in my view diluted the brand by cashing in on everything else. Once they would not endorse/sell a product eg lock out kit ,testers etc. they started to produce technical books which was ok now they have got too commercial a big opportunity was lost in light how Gas Safe has evolved.
