Not exactly pro-kit, but worth a look! - 3.6v Li-on screwdriver for £9!

Never had a small battery driver before (just use my Bosch combi for heavy use, and my trusty Wera "manually operated" drivers for everything else!) but was doing a bit of work for a friend at the weekend and they had a Bosch (green) 3.6v li-on driver sitting around so thought I'd try it. Was pretty impressed so planned to get one myself, although was expecting to shop around for a trade brand.

Was in B&Q yesterday and saw these...

Picked one up as I didn't think I could possibly go wrong for less than a tenner and I'm not disappointed... I'm sure it won't last as long as a trade branded bit of kit, but seeing as I could almost by nine of them for the price of the Bosch blue equivalent I'm not fussed!

Not used it much, but it certainly seems to do the job!

Ok if you have a day to wait for the battery to charge. But like you say for a tenner can't really go wrong

Excellent for spinning candy floss any more torque than that and the batteries will be forever on charge ....

I keep trying the cheap tools route, where you can trash 5 bits of kit for the price of one good one, but I have slowly reached the conclusion that it is not cost effective.

I bought 3 of the Aldi screwdrivers similar to above about 2 months ago, and although I have only used them for screwing up accessories - not back boxes, all three have died.
I know I can take them back, but in reality, I never do.

more fool you then! if its under warranty, get it changed. mebbe I'm just fussy, but I've always been like that with everything. even cheap cheap things. it's your right as a consumer!

I always take things back and complain. Besides the warranty period is fairly irrelevant anyway, goods have to last a reasonable length of time.

However, using DIY tools as a tradesman opens a can of worms... (so I bought my £9 screwdriver from the normal B&Q tills, not on my trade account!

glad someone else agrees. I take back things all the time. also complain in restaurants etc. almost always gets a free meal, replacement tool, or whatever it happens to be. drives other half mad but I've always been like that.
it's the same with change as well. if for example, I'm due a penny change, I make sure I get it. it's the principle.

As Tel said useful for socket pins, and also very tight spaces that need a hole drilling.

Ps I still have some tools I use that were in a childs tool set I recieved when 7 years old (1976).
