Hi folks - if anyone can offer dvice on this matter as i have heard several ways to do the job, so not sure which is best.
I have an office block that i need to renew the wirings ( surface mounted / suspended ceilings etc..
there are approx 18 rooms on 2 floors which i need to rewire - i want each on on its own meter so i can bill them each month. these are short term lease offices. each office will perhaps use on average 1 x 2 kw heater and seversal office items such as pc , printers etc...
I was thinking cheapest and easiest way maybe run 2.5mm twinearth from new board to office (through meter) and back to board - i understand this is doubling up wiring but each office is on its own ring then. any advice? I have been told to run 6mm armoured to each office but that seems excessive as there is no way i would get 18 x armoured cable on the board?
cheers folks

Have a look at manufacturers websites of distribution boards
Many have options for metering outgoing ways

1. I'd suggest you consult a qualified and competent electrician to look at this - it's not just about loading there's also things like cable lengths, disconnection times and earthing considerations.

2. Various metering options exist from having a bank of check meters (could get messy with that many) up to specialist meter units with multiple outlets and digital data sends - again, take the advice of a competent commercial contractor.

3. Alternatively, consider individual key meters in each unit?
