Went to investigate zero output on solar system and discovered a damaged panel.
But what surprised me was the damage (Obvious heat damage) to the underlying sub-frame and roof membrane.

The DC cabling was surprising un-marked.
Client is adamant that there had been no impact damage!

Based on the crazing in the glass, it's probably some form of tempered/hardened glass... the stresses in it can cause it to spontaneously shatter (happened to my parents patio doors one afternoon and to a double glazed unit in the bathroom in the middle of the night).

After that it probably suffered an electrical failure that caused a small fire. Certainly makes you think when you see houses with them all over the roof, especially if like that they are the 'built in' variety.

Thanks, its certainly something to consider as a possible cause but nowt that we can do about that occurring.
Out of warranty now so no come back on supplier even if it could be proved that the panel was originally faulty.
My biggest surprise was the heat that had obviously been generated to cause the meltdown and how easily a fire could start through a faulty panel!
