Part P - What is this then!!!!!!

I moved to Northern Ireland some years ago from the mainland.
Bloody marvellous, no sodding Part P. It never came in here.
Just makes me really laugh hearing all you guys go on about Part P problems and signing off this that and the other.
Sorry, just wanted you to remember what the old days were like before Part P.
The good ole days are still in Ireland for the moment anyway!!!

to summarize, Part P is a system whereby anybody can now do what you used to do, so know it costs YOU more to do it

All work carried out has to be done by a competent person. Competent being someone who has a “sound knowledge of electrical installations”, qualifications can back up the person’s knowledge.

Hey, I do really know what it is, I'm just jesting with you. From my end it just seems as if everyone is trying to find loop holes or are having hassles because of it.
I know of contractors in the mainland who are not affiliated by anyone, who also never contact building control, they are still trading and getting plenty of work. Its like two fingers up to the Part P requirement. Who checks up on the one's who aren't bothering?
