Hi

I have a power supply rated as Class 2. Input voltage is 240v AC, Output is 35.5v DC. Our version is 3-pin with a dummy earth pin.

The PAT tester we have at work is a Seaward Supernova.

Would I use the probe / Earth Bond Test clip to attach onto the outer or inner contact of DC part of the jack?

Thanks for any help..

Should you be PAT testing if you have to ask this question?

the only test you can do with these is an IR test from the 230v side to the 12v socket. however, this gives rise to the possibility of damaging the unit, so more often than not, i just do a visual

The reason im asking is that our supplier of the transformer stated that there was no requirement to PAT the transformer as there is no earth pin.

As the equipment is classed as Class 2, I was interested in getting the correct procedure. I understood it would be a IR test but am unsure as to how to connect the DC end of the adapter to the PAT tester.

Thanks Telectrix.
