FAO Dan - any chance you could please stop spamming our inboxes?

It's set to come through to my emails in case someone actually wants to ask me something, not so you can beat my spam filters to spam me to attempt to lure me / others back to the site with some random spam.

I'm sure you're just trying ways to drum up traffic for the site / keep sponsors happy etc but honestly this isn't the way to do it, please stop it.

Thanks.

Pmsl wind your neck in. It was to get you some free stuff in the comp pal.

Hey, Hey read this, New sponsor supplying vans to electricians, back online, insurance section added, Alright?, Spot The Ball... are the titles of the forum spam in my folder since you seem to have started doing this in September, not just todays message.

It's obviously something new you're trying to attempt to drum up traffic as this forum hadn't done this previously, I'm just politely giving you feedback that it's annoying and requesting that you return to the previous non spam policy that worked well enough previously.

I don't see that ending up with posters adding EF pms to our email spam filters is going to help the site.

Nowt personal, I have the same reaction to any company that starts spamming me (which we get a hell of a lot of). Usually I'd just add them to my spam list to be filtered out or blocked, but can't do that here without losing notification about any genuine PMs and I can't block mods from my inbox so thought I'd try just giving you feedback and asking your nicely if you'd mind keeping your pms to a minimum.

I recently had two titled "alright?". And "you alright?" I replied asking what they meant and was ignored.
Spam is the only way to describe this. I found it annoying and a bit weird. Same as a sales phone call that hangs up. I'd like to be excluded from any future spam mail please.

I feel I have to say something here, regarding the spot the ball pm.
Firstly Dan was only reacting to a staff request by us to generate some interest in the recent competition. The staff decided to buy some gifts with their own money to give away over Christmas as a little way of saying thank you to all the members for their contributions over the year.
And behind closed doors we asked Dan to generate an email to get it more attention so if anyone's to blame it's me and the staff not Dan.
We were just trying to do something nice for you all.

The one asking if you're alright I had a shed load of replies to so need go through them I wasn't expecting so many. Ooooops

Next you'll be moaning about some thanks button I've never seen. Claiming we had one or something. Knowing you lot.

I also replied to one of the "alright?" and "you alright?" pm's. I thought initially something was wrong, but when I didn't get a reply I just assumed that they were spam to drum up more interest in the forum.
Nothing special in my reply, which was something like "Yes mate, I'm fine. Why do you ask?"

As I said I didn't expect to get so many replies. Got over 200. Got no time today to reply to 200 PM's asking about Xmas. lol
