I had an EICR deemed as unsatisfactory and was advised with a quote for £650 for remedial work to replace plastic with metal fuse box and urgent remedial action (C2) needed to fix ' incorrect cabling' 2 breakers.
We already have a metal fuse box and I asked about what was incorrectly cabled and where. The response was to say EICR was now satisfactory with 5 year review and just ignore the rest.

Are my tenants safe after this EICR? Was it error, competency .....?????

Have they now provided you with a satisfactory EICR?
a phone call saying everything is ok is just not good enough.

it sounds like the original report is fundamentally wrong and needs to be replaced

as above. you have a report which says "unsatis". this needs to be replaced with 1 saying "satis", and no code 1 or code 2 observations. If he's done it in the computer it's 10 minutes to amend it, and print youoff a ne wreport.

I have known EICRs to be mixed up between 2 properties but that is the kindest interpretation of what might have gone on. Sadly it’s more likely trying to get work.
I admire the fact the landlord actually cares about the tenants safety - it makes a refreshing change.
As above new paperwork is required.
The only sure way to assess whether it was a competent inspection is to get a 2nd opinion.
Sometimes we can get an idea of the quality if the report is posted on here with all personal details removed, together with a photo of the consumer unit.
