Reminds me of a true story; bloke got nicked for growing some pot in a greenhouse at his Mum's house. Cops went to the house, to collect the plants for destruction. As their were doing so, the little old lady demanded to know what the cops were doing with her 'herbs'.
'Herbs madame?'
'Yes, I use them in my soups, for the old people down at the care home. They'll be really disappointed!'
'I bet they will!' ;)

Merry Xmas

A good mate of mine from Uni ( on the same Botany course ) went on and joined the Lancashire constabulary. He told me about a case he'd had where he had discovered a patch of cannabis that someone had been growing hidden away in a secluded area of countryside. He took great delight at court when the arrogant barrister cross examined him and asked what qualified him to identify said plants. 'An honours degree in botany, your honour'

Another story a cop mate told me; traffic constable being cross examined by defence council, questioning how the constable could read the reg plate of the car so far away (before dash cams!).

'Just how far can you see, officer?'.

Pause & reflection, 'Well, I can see the moon, how far away is that?'

Judge smiled and told the barrister his questioned had been answered.
