If you are buying one pair, get a set of Gilbows,Irwin make them, now. They will do the heavy and light work, just dress the cutting edges with a diamond hone, now and again.

The most common killer of jaws,is a live wire,or something hardened,like a hidden self-tapper...

A joiner recommenced Wiss snips to me years ago and I have had a set since. I have always been happy with them.

I use Stanley 12" think they were about 10 quid on sale, had them for 4 years and still cut like new mostly used on aluminium but some copper.
