You could have an internet socket feeding a contactor that would turn off the whole board. You would need an electrician to do some work as you would beed to make sure the socket supply stays live so you can remotely switch it back on.

There are loads of products on the market.

Do you not have a problem with the safety aspect of switching circuits on and off from 100 miles away?

Not with todays technology no. I can switch many things from my phone from anywhere in the world with no issues at all.

In this instance you could wire the contactor to fail safe. It is really very simple and perfectly safe.

thanks for that. So would you place the contactor post the main breaker and pre the MCB/RCD protection? If so, what current rating would the contactor need to be? Can you think of any particular modes that would be suitable?
