Hi,

I'm trying to remove a lightbulb from a fitting that was in place when we moved here. The bulb is deep into the shade around it and the gap around the bulb is not wide enough to grab by hand. I feel like I'm missing a trick! I've attached some pictures which might help explain my description better. Any advice would be appreciated.

Cheers

Sometimes you need to remove the glass shade to get at the lamp properly.
You need to unscrew the inner retaining ring at the base of the inside. Again, long nose pliers can help here.

I have a similar fitting, and removing the glass shade is tricky...I just pull and replace the g9 using pliers.
On a personal note, i hate those g9s...always having problems with them. I'm sure they are based on the old camera flashbulb technology...I have no idea why they exist.

Light fitting would have came with a simple tool for removing the shades, like this.

Would suggest changing all lamps to G9 LED, I find the Crompton ones to be very good.

Theres a tool that comes with the light when bought that unscrews the glass shade part easily which then makes the lamp easy to remove. Long nose pliers are fine just got to careful you dont break lamp as can be really difficult to remove then
