Hi,

I currently have halogen downlighting in bathroom each light with an individual transformer.

One of the transformers has gone now and I have tried replacing with a new one which I believe to be like for like however it seems to make the odd crackling noise.

Could this be due to being badly wired or more likely something else?

I was told that can’t put in LED lights due to building regs in the bathroom.

Any advice appreciated.

Could be the lamp holder not making good contact?

Many bathroom lights are LED these days, dont know why anyone would say you cant?

LED is the norm now.

Most halogens with transformers are being taken out due to the high risk of overheating.
