How longs a piece of string....

1 light in every room or multiple down lights

bare minimum sockets or loads of sockets

there really isn’t a set price these days

i Would hazard a guess at a really basic rewire no frills no making good

4 grand Ish

I t also depends on who is pricing the rewire, an Electrician or a Builder. Remember a builder will bung his mark up om if he is going through a Sparks.

…and, is the house occupied (will they want electric every night)
Or is it empty with no furnishings?

location. Hull is not as expensive as Knightsbridge, London.

The OP said a ‘homer’ so I presume a local job for someone that they know.
imo for my area of Surrey , a very basic house rewire with no making good is 4000 ish (very ish) , the last rewire I helped another sparks with came out at 12,500 (Their price not mine) So it shows how widely they can vary

if it was a builder pricing it With making good it will clearly be more , ALOT more...

Truly, it is easier to calculate the length of a piece of string...there's a formula for that!
If the house is occupied, then 2x the price of an empty house.
If it's truly a "homer"-no tax of any sort, you need to add something on as davesparks said...20% seems reasonable
If it's a "homer" because the customer wants it on the cheap...walk away...

Homers are harder to get away with nowadays, and it’s not worth the spark risking getting hmrc sniffing about.

you might find someone that isn’t vat registered, then the homer price is the same as their working price through The books.

Ask for a Homer, you get a “Doh!”
