Hi, im wanting to rewire my garage lighting and replace the lights currently in there now.

At the moment i have a two gang switch controlling two lights inside and one outside fed from an fcu. At the other end of the garage there is an outside light on a plug top.

i want to replace the two light fittings for led batten lights and add an extra 2 gang switch at the other end of the garage so it can be controlled two way and have the outside light controlled by a switch rather than on a plug top.

I know i have to run a two core to the switch from the fcu, a two core up to the inside lights and a 3 core between the switches. What i need to know is how to wire the new two gang switch for the outside light that is currently on a plug top as there will be no neutral at this point.

Thanks

you' needto get a neutral to either the switch for the outside light ot the light itself, either from the FCU or from the internal light.

you could buy 100m of blue single sheathed cable, expensive for what you need, or some 1.0mm T/E, just use the blue, come from either the light neutral or the outgoing N of the FCU.

So ill have 4 cables coming from the first switch right? 2 core to first outside light, 2 core to inside lights, 3 core between switches and an extra 2 core to carry the neutral to the second two gang switch?
