Hi eveyone,

I am currently training to become an electrican and have some money saved up. I have been looking at doing my Level 1 rope access training. but before doing so want to check other peoples experiences with it and what type of jobs it could lead to.

Thanks Ross Thompson

Not really the first training that come to mind, but it may be applicable to power distribution for pylons, telecommunications work for aerials, wind turbine work or possibly some work in the events industry, stages and so on.
However this would be a minor addition to these tasks as a lot of them would be work at height rather than rope access.

Hopefully more responses may give you a better insight.

Are you trying to get offshore? Like Richard said, it's a odd first choice but maybe you have an idea on what avenue you are going down.
