Hi all

Just wondered if anyone has bought anything of this crowd?
They have some great deals on sds drills and I was going to buy some of them, alas they don't deliver to the Republic of Ireland but I have a friend in Northern Ireland and I can get them delivered to his address.
While I'm at it I was also looking at ebay for drills and there is also some great deals on it,has anyone bought anything like that on ebay?
Thanks

Hi Irishsparks
Have used them for bits and bobs Kewtech kt61 £350 etc pleased with all ive got from them but wander lead £97 and got it at wilts electrical for about £64 so like everywhere some things cheaper here some cheaper there etc.

I do buy a fair few tools from Screwix.

Cant say i would trust anything on ebay these days, but there are the odd bargains around if you are careful.

What about your local tool shop?

Sometimes they are willing to do deals and can work out cheaper than anywhere.

Screwfix is owned by B&Q so your safe using them but toolstation is cheaper for some things. i was told whilst in toolstation that the guy who set up toolstation did so after selling screwfix to b&q using all his knowledge/suppliers etc. Screwfixes prices seem to be slowly rising but still nowhere near bnqs.
i would be very careful how things are worded when buying off ebay as things arnt always as they seem. ie they sell things making them look like they are genuine good makes ie bosch, makita and dewalt but you will get them they are not. i had this with jigsaw blades ... and they were ****e.

Hey all.

I find screwfix pretty expensive on most things other than screws.

As for ebay, everything I have ever bought off there has always been great including my 1552 for £480 squids.

Prices in Ireland are very dear for example the Dewalt 24v is over €600 here but on screwfix its only £320 ,plus with the strength of the Euro to Sterling i can save about €300 to €400 buying in England...

Have used Screwfix for years now. They are not always the cheapest, however, I regularly get an e-mail from them offering 10% off when you spend over £50 or £100 varies. What I like best though is that you can order in the evening online - delivery is always very good - next day if ordered before 6.00pm, and the best bit they never, ever quibble about anything you want to return - and they arrange to collec free of charge - even if it's something you simply don't want. I return some decking clips about 9 months after I brought them. Finally altough I normally order online, tyr giving them a call, they always answer within 5 rings. As I say, may not be cheapest but can't fault service.

we stopped using CEF and do all are consumables shopping in their they are very good

1 problem is it takes forever to put your order in thou make sure you get their early

buy about 90% of my tools from screwfix never had a problem with them and they replaced my drill with no problems at all

never been a fan of ebay after getting scammed a few times thankfully only on little things

I would never use Ebay as wont put credit card details on internet i know people say its safe but you never know everyone who works for paypal etc.
Just my view
Screwfix never had problem with and helps if you know someone that works there and gets you discount.

They seem to do some pretty good clearance deals . My Ryobi 650w SDS (£130 new 3 years ago and still going strong) has been upgraded to a 750w. The 650w was being cleared at £39. Cheap enough to use for a couple of jobs and bin if it fails!

I often use Screwfix because their delivery is very good, ordered materials at 4:30pm once and they were on the doorstep at 8:30 the next morning. I spent more than £50 so the delivery was free.
Word of warning though, never use their 'budget' range of electrical accessories. They are of a poor quality and you'll end up throwing half of them away.

I've bought a lot from Screwfix. Their service has been absolutely faultless. As has already been mentioned, they never question returns, they just accept them. They may not always be the cheapest but they are always reliable which is often more important.
