Last week, my sky Q box shut down, and through speaking to someone on the phone, I did a software update, and deleted a load of recorded programs…. Down to less than 30% disk used now.

Happened again last night, during Eurovision!
3 times in an hour. Had to unplug power, plug back in, wait for it to “warm up”… watched a bit more… and it happens again.

Seemingly, I wasn’t the only one. Thousands of other boxes across the countryreported to have shut down.

Now, the only reason we have sky was no aerial socket near where we wanted the tv, and sky gave us access to Disney, Netflix etc.

Now we have a smart tv, it has all that built in… we don’t really need the sky box.

What is bt tv like? Or any other providers?

Had a problem with Sky over the last few weeks and tried everything even put a new area 2 dish up and a dual high definition LNB, well to cut a very long story short, changed the HDMI imput on the Smart TV from HDMI 1 too HDMI 2 and now all is well, could have saved myself a trip to the roof. 🙄

I was going to kick up a bit, as it had happened earlier in the week too, but the reports that it was more widespread than just me, i let it go.

I did phone up to get out package renewed on a new price... still not too happy with it, but its better than it was.... Mentioned our remote control was falling apart, so theyre sending a new one.... and today recieved a complimentery movie to buy as an apology for the Thursday outage.

The girls want to see Wicked.

I said Sky on my previous post, but I meant only the SKYmix programe that I receive through Freesat, been on FreeSat and Humax freesat for years, just think how much money I have saved on subscriptions, I wont pay for TV.
