Socket box sinker for brick

Hi, is there a socket box sinker on the market that will work on older (Tougher) type house bricks, or is it just a case of good old lump hammer, chisel, and lots of holes with a masonry drill ??

You can get a foreign one outside Wickes at the end of the Stanningley Bypass if you are in Leeds, and early enough.

Best and cleanest piece of kit in the van. light use and kit is complete although it is only single socket size. To be honest it would be more use hanging on the christmas tree than is is for cutting bricks.

SDS scutch with an decently powerful drill for me in brick. Posted on here previously that I rewired a sandstone cottage a couple of years ago and the socket box sinker kit was invaluable as the sandstone absorbed the chisel impact but the rotary cutter in the armeg kit got rid of most of the cut out in no time

Get a wall chaser instead you can cut the back boxes out with them and get a nice neat finish , comes in handy for chasing walls too

didnt know such a beast existed im a big friend of the skutch so off now to find sds version

Have you tried using just the TCT sds round cutter and hard material chisel from Welcome to Moorcut Direct Ltd
The round cutter will cut the brick, but you have to square the corners off with the hard material chisel instead of the square box cutter. I dont think you will find a sds plus box sinker that will cut hard brick, these tools rely on the power of the sds machine and they are just not powerful enough.
A sds max version would be to powerful and knock the bricks out, we know we have tried.

Rob, they are a waste of money if you dont use them. They are great on breeze and thermolite and soft concrete blocks, that is what they are designed to cut. It was just a suggestion to try, i've cut harder bricks using the method I descibed quite easy, give it a try mate.
Where did or who did you buy your set from?
Cant find you on our records, if there is any fault we will replace it no problem.
