Hi All. I'm seeking some advice. About trousers/dungarees. I've secured work experience with a local firm, doing two days a week at present with them volunteering. I've bought a pair of dickies dungarees, but I need extra pockets, and a toolbelt just isn't good enough. So I'm looking to invest in some proper scruffs / snickers / other sparky trousers with the extra flap pockets for all my tools I'm starting to get like snips, pliers, screwdriver set etc. thing is, I'm tall (6ft 5 ins) and have basically no hips, so I pretty much always have to use braces, and I can't seem to find a set of sparky trousers which are stretchy fabric, and also come with a set of braces. Dungarees are too much material and I find them too hot to work in. I mean I will if necessary buy a seperate pair of braces, drill holes in the fasteners and use wire to connect them to whichever pair of sparky trousers I buy (as I've had to do with jeans and other normal trousers I wear, to stop the damn braces becoming detached every 5 minutes) but was thinking surely other people must have come across this issue before me, and if so, surely some companies must sell sparky trousers (which are gonna be heavy anyway, with so many tools hanging off them, surely) with braces which have a modular snap on points on the trousers or something like this. Yet I can't seem to find any.

By the way I have tried searching for 'trousers' and 'braces' but I don't know how to search by a given subsection of the forums (unless by ctrl F which only does one page, out of like 138 pages of threads) and so apologies if someone else has asked this previously, I still don't know how to search specific forums on this site.

But I have to say I'm very grateful this site exists - thank you Lou, Dan, and all who contribute to it! Feels like a real community.

One of my mate wears braces, for fashion not functionality, and he has ones with buttons on the trousers that attach to the braces.
Could you not get some of these braces and then just put buttons onto the pants?
This means that you will only need to buy one pair of braces.

I seem to remember, from seeing various USA based trades television programmes, that braces for workwear are a bit more common over there. Try having a look at Amazon.com or some other US based websites and see if you can see anything.

You could also try ------------, who are a forum sponsor, and see if they know of anything.

Snickers make braces so I can only presume they make trousers for them to attach to? Could be worth an email to them as they seen to cover most bases with work gear but they are expensive
