they can bring that wall down a few mile for me bill,we have more in common with the scots than anyone else, like no one understands what we say,we all like a drink and wear t shirts in the winter:cool:

Tis true - but then, that border shifted regularly by around fifty miles many times through the years. Obviously the wall didn't, but it wouldn't be new to discover Carlisle, and parts of Durham being in Scotland at one time or another. The Rievers being very good at that kind of effort between the 13th and 16th centuries, until the government took their jobs over (lol).

I like most of County Durham - it's a lovely county always seems very clean, and never too full of folk either!

There's nothing worse than a yank trying to pull a Scots or an Irish accent.

Their only attempt at a Welsh accent was the old film " how green was my valley " it was about old time mining

They did have possibly one token welshman in the film, the rest were yanks and paddies

The job they did on our accents were bad enough, but trying the intricacies of Brave heart banter and the Irish lilt was, I admit myself, above and behond the call of duty

"Mr Mel Mc Gibson",it wasn't perfect Jock lingo by a long way
I'm amased he didn't call the women in that film bonny shielaghs

I love southern England. West Country is great, Isle of Wight is a fantastic place, i have relatives in Ventnor. Brother in Law lives in Hitchin, right next to the town centre.....great pubs. His father in Law lives in St Albans, i go down to play golf with him. I like London, have at least 2 weekends down there every year, go on the train and stay at the Tower Bridge Novotel just round the back of Tower Hill tube station, the tube is fantastic and cheap as chips. i am not too keen on north west England, the people are great but i dont like Manchester, Liverpool and so on. Blackpool is just a ****hole. I am Bradford born and i wouldnt live back there if it were rent free, its a grotty hole. Leeds, my home town of choice, the capital of the world, its got the lot, by far my favourite city in the UK:D. Just a shame i cant bring myself to support the football team.....Bradford city all the way i am afraid:o

Cheers........Howard
