Let an Arms member correct you sir:-

"If clearance of 50mm from the surface cannot be achieved capping should be used" = Are you on drugs or reading from a different book that we all do?

Greater then 50mm depth of the full circuit of the cable dose not need to be RCD protected unless it is for out door use, mobile equipment or in a special location. Capping is only for the protection of the plasterer if he's trowel is 3/4 the width of the chase.

CAPPING IS NOT MECHANICAL PROTECTION. PLEASE LETS MAKE THAT CLEAR TO ALL THAT IS READING THIS.

Don't know about 24Hr party, my eyes are about dropping out. I never want to see another vector diagram ever again. I've just got on to Le Blanc 4 phase 5 wire transformers. The calculations are doing my head in! At least Archy is helping with the trigonometry.
Now the bitch upstairs is doing aerobics at 01:30

522-06-06

I wish people would start reading the reg and not just look at them:-

522.6.6 Not 06-06 please put the reg numbers in the correct manor, thank you.

522.6.6 =

(i) does not apply to capping
(ii) capping is not sheathed
(iii) capping is not a ducting system
(iv) cappig is not mechanical protection
(v) has nothing to do with capping same as all of the above.

Ok will , that wasn't what u answered u just said none were required if in safe zone etc etc , not that it wasn't mechanical protection , we had already "worked" that one out
Pretty slow for a arms member you guys usually have it memorized back to front like the karran

Yes we do and even myself after ten cans of Stella can shot you down in flames without looking at a book.

THATS WE ARE ARMS MEMBERS

So just to sum up then;

Kitchen fitters always use Capping except when they can't be bothered.
Professional Electricians in the domestic sector never use Capping unless the kitchen fitter's mate, the plasterer has got a small trowel..
