I have been tempted to buy but not succumbed so far. Think they are useful if you have to travel to a site with limited tools and no van. For day to day work when you are constantly getting different drivers out to use I am certain that having to change the blade all the time would wear my patience. Obviously I can't comment on any brands durability etc!
Part of the reason I'm interested is because the way my screwdrivers go in my bag you can only see the handle which is annoying when I have to keep pulling different ones out to find the one I want.
i have a section in my bag that has numerous holders for mini screwdrivers or pens etc. I thought the interchangeable bits could go there and save me time searching
All my drivers are in order of size with posi's and flat blades separate. Know where they are instantly as I like to keep a tidy ship! Horses for courses though mate, the interchangeables may suit you better.
Get one of those sets with the entire blade enclosed in the handle, not just the bit the shaft as well
What are they called?
Im the same. I like to have my bag tidy and organised. The problem is the drivers have to go in tip down and I can't see the tips so have only a vague idea from the handle
I was looking a wera interchangeable screwdriver set and thought it seems a good idea.
whats the general consensus on these types of things? Useful? Are they durable?
I'm with a few others - good organisation of your tool kit and you'll know which driver is which. Think these interchangeable thingymajigs would have me frustrated after having to change the end a few times. Even my torque driver, I tend to just leave the plus-minus in as that's what gets used 95% of the time.
Only time these interchangeable would be useful is for the travelling (public transport) spark I reckon, but each to their own eh.
Appreciate all the advice guys. I think I'm going to grab a permanent marker and try labelling the ends of my drivers first and see if that helps. Tbh my drivers are pretty cheap and the tips are starting to deform so maybe I should just buy some quality drivers that are already marked in some way
