Just got here, and I'm not sure if this question will make sense to UK folks, or if there are any USA folks here at all.

Anyway: due to supply issues, I can't find any 4/0 XHHN or THHN. I'm trying to connect my meter to a 200 amp disconnect. Can I use 4/0-4/0-4/0-2/0 alumin(i)um SER cable for that connection?

I should add- this would entail removing the ground from the SER, since my ground is in the disconnect.
It sounds like you have a 3 phase service and yes on the aluminum wire size and aluminum is cheaper than copper. You can always use your local electrical parts house to purchase wire. You must pull a #6 wire for your equipment ground

The wire size that you mentioned is fine for a 200 amp service to a single family dwelling. Coming from the meter to the first panel you want need a ground wire but you will need to install 2 ground rods at least 6 feet apart and install one #6 ground to the rods. It sounds like you have a 3 phase service since you are installing three 4/0 aluminum. You can also go to your electrical parts house to buy copper or aluminum wire.
