Hi. I'm new to this. A question about garden lighting. I need to install aprox 20no walkover lights along the edge of a new patio, aprox 15m accross by 4m. Lawn in front of patio about same size. Wondering whether to install L/V, LED or mains. Also I've always used pratley boxes. Are there any alternatives? Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Geoff

they are usually of the `plug & play` type.....

they will all go back to a common manifold.....this is/should be suitably IP rated....and will then come off an outside supply...again this should be suitably IP rated....

Hi Sintra. Thanks for prompt response. I'm a one man band NICEIC approved. Did the test & inspec 2391. 38yrs old. 20yrs in the game, 7yrs on my own. Done mainly indoor domestic, some com & indus. Some outdoor stuff, brick lights & directional spot lights on spikes mainly.

If you are installing new lights then you should comply with part L of the building regulations. I would be attempting to have all joints above ground if possible (and accessible) and suitably IP rated.

Walkover lights usually have fitted cabling so take that to your supply manifold.
