what dewalt drills to get4electrics?

Looking to get a pair of dewalt drills for electrics any tips and best places to get them from preferably decent price
also any idea if cashconverters is a good spot I didn't go in for them was just looking around the city and stumbled upon them. They seemed to have alot of tools including makita and some other brands and had 2 dewalt drills ill post the pic below they were £149.99.

Personally I would buy anything but Dewalt their powerstack batteries are useless after just 3 years and now out of warranty they are on the way out and on a stand at an Elex show recently chatting to the Dewalt rep and mentioning I have Makita kit with batteries many years old he suggested I should carry on buying Makita

Cash converters, CEX etc used to have a reputation of handling stolen goods, or that was maybe just the city I lived in at the time.

You won’t get a long warranty either.

For a start up drill, try a local screwfix. You can always upgrade later.

Also, don’t believe all anecdotal tales of woe from “I wouldn’t buy X brand”
Yellow ones are good, red ones are good. Even the blue ones are good.

Personally, when I started SE in ‘17 I got 2 dewalt drills from screwfix (local store just opened and had intro prices) Between them I got 2x 5Ah, 2x 4Ah batteries, 2 chargers and everything still works fine. Battery’s are still good after 8 years.

Twin pack from somewhere like Screwfix with decent battery 4-5AH is a good starting point.
If you get one with two batteries you. An then start building a set with bare units.

Personally I have DeWalt.
I have used Makita a lot and not much between them

Milwaukee are a slight step up but don't think the extra price is worth it.

If you want to go significantly better go Hilti but the price will be a lot more

Yh I think I prefer dewalt might put a pause on drill for now maybe; I’m getting a fluke continuity and voltage tester, I’ll have a look at the drills down the line once they’re on sale or something I’ll grab the 2 drill kit

Keep an eye on Screwfix for offers on a starter kit in either DeWalt or Makita and you won't go wrong

Not one I have used.
I have a T5 and a 117.
Think they are much more expensive.


The twin pack DeWalt seems dear.
They have done similar ones with 4-5 Ah batteries for similar price but the offers change all the time.
