Quite a few new builds are popping up locally in my area. I have noticed that they are not even being first fixed until the buildings are completely secure thats to say roof, window frames glass included, locked doors etc. Most are 3 storey flats all timber built, looked inside the ground floor it was pitch dark, no temporary lighting so all trades must be using head torches . Then by magic all lights on , central heating pipes radiators, all on and working as if they have ghosted in.
I understand with theft on the rise and building sites are top on the list just never have taken that much notice, is this common practice for you guys working on new build sites. Very different when I was on new builds but its a long time ago.
 
Haven't done any new builds since Covid but I know a few blokes who do. And yes thefts are massively on the up in certain areas.
I was chatting to a plumber a few weeks ago and some travellers walked onto the site and just started taking stuff.
I have done flats in London where you didn't put cables and pipes in until the Site was fully secured. But in the sticks you would sling in cables long before the windows went in
