what ratchet crimpers to get?

I need some new pair of crimpers the 0.5mm-6mm ones. I had some cheap ones before but didn't last that long, any one got any suggestion on some good makes I don't mind paying extra as long as they last me.

You really need more than just one ratchet crimper unless you buy one with interchangable heads for insulated crimps, uninsulated crimps and bootlace ferrules etc.

0.5 to 6mm will probably be bootlace ferrule crimpers as thats the size of ck ones etc

Ive got some nice facom ones that hold the crimp in the die real handy! Also habe facom bootlace crimpers good quality!

How much were the facom bootlace crimpers...fancy a set as have some other facom tools...class kit...

my insulated crimpers are some HD Forge Steel ones from screwfix, a bit heavy and bulky but they do the job, tried pulling the crimp apart and failed...

To be fair ive been using a silverline pair for a while, they were about 15 and not directional like some others

Had them about a year and they have lasted well

CK for insulated crimps and Weidmuller for bootlace ferrules.

The Phoenix ones are expensive but have the interchangeable dies. Great for me as I use them for sat cable crimps as well as shoelace and lugs. The company tend to be at the trade shows where I got a better price.

Those PVC covered coloured crimps are just about the worst butt crimps on the market today, never use them and have never trusted them. Far better are the heatshrink covered coloured butt crimps, that you can then shrink the XLPE insulation onto the conductors. Even better, bare butt crimps that you over cover with one or two layers heat shrink tubing!!

I use klauke ones with interchangeable dies k507 I believe.
