Discuss Which contactor utilization category for electronically controlled motors: AC-1, AC-7a, AC-7b ...? in the Australia area at ElectriciansForums.net

Many devices with motors in them now have electronic controls, e.g. "inverter" aircons/fridges. Many include include soft-start and power-factor correction, etc.
Should these devices still be considered as inductive/motor loads (AC7b) or a different utilization category?
