hi all, just need 2 pick some brains over earthing. Have come to a secxond fix this week, and have to hook up this fancy whirlpool tub. The whole job is nearly complete, builders are just finishing and making good, when i realise the tub has a fly green and yellow on one of the motors. Obviously this must be to bond the jet outlets etc, but where would be the best place to bond???

Main water & gas bonding in place and all circuits on 17th ed board, so no green and yellow was run into the bathroom. Should bond to the taps, although this is that crap flexible hosing stuff, or should i just connect it to the baths junction box/ circuit box; but why hasn't this been done already???

As i sed, they have made good, so can't go drilling and knocking. Appreciate all comments, event those sacastic ones. Many thanks......

Find the most accesible circuit in the bathroom

Please ignore the preceeding reply. if all water supply rads and taps is in plastic then there is no req for supp bonding as the conduction is bconsidered to be by the Cu not the H2O

Sorry jeremy, so are you saying that i should attach it to the earth that is in the supply to the tub, or leave it??

If the water is supplied by plastic pipe there is no need to supp bond because any metal pipe work showing above the floor becomes plastic below the floor and is deemed to be isolated from extaeneous conductive parts of the building. EG the towel rail might be nice shiny chrome but if everything below the floor is plastic ther is deemed no chance of a potential diff between a tap and a towel rail therfore no need for supp bond req
