Hi. Recently, one of my AFC I breakers began tripping any time even a small load was put on it. To make a long story short, I have replaced all the receptacles and switches on the circuit and have replaced the AFCI circuit breaker. Really the only 2 things left I haven't touched are two ceiling fans but I don't see how they could trip the AFCI if they are switched off. Again, the AFCI will stay on until a small load is placed on it. Even a 60 W light bulb will trip it instantly. Is it possible that a ceiling fan that is switched off can trip the afci? Thanks!

To be honest every since electricians have had to make service calls for nuisance tripping. We have got by for many many years without AFCI breakers and I hate to say it but just put in a regular breaker. If it trips you have problems if it don’t trip no problem. AFCI breakers seem to retain heat and can’t dissipate heat very well, that’s why I think they trip so much
