My Whirlpool dishwasher lost power. I checked all of the connections and nothing is loose. Nothing looked corroded. It's a newer model ( a few years old) and does not have a thermal fuse. So we popped off the bottom and we noticed one of the wire nuts has a black ring around it so I'm assuming it burnt out? I know nothing about electrical or appliances but we just had our kitchen remodeled and we didn't put the dishwasher in so I'm not too sure what's going on. I know that it's hardwired to a 12-2. If the wire nut burned does that mean the dishwasher is now shot or can we replace the burned part and reconnect? Removing the dishwasher means we will need to pull up the floor tiles because it's way too tight. Is it possible the dishwasher may still work or could there be something wrong with the dishwasher and that's what caused the wire nut to burn out?

TL;DR
Burned, wire nut
Some pictures may help clarify :) If the wirenut, is only used to connect the unit to it's supply, it may just need that connection remaking.

It didn't give me the option to add a photo when I originally posted. It does now though!Wire nut has black ring around it 20220930_180439_HDR - EletriciansForums.net

The cable and the nut are both going to be damaged.
the cable needs cutting back to an undamaged section and re terminate in a new wire nut
