Wiring for ceiling spotlight

I have 4 down light spotlights in my bathroom and am having problems with loose wires into the small white thing that the spotlight plugs into. The spotlights are pins as opposed to lugs if you know what I mean. The problem I have is I can't see how to secure the two whites wires into the small white thing. Is there anything else available that I can use that is easier to wire into i.e. my eyes are not they used to be.

Just a cautionary word - locate the MCB for that light and turn it off before starting work. As you extract the transformer that lamp lead is attached to it may bring with it some poorly made connections...

no worry about the tiles, is that ceiling cladded in wood? with them fire creating halogens covered in insulation.

NO. MR 16 is multifacited reflector 16 eights of an inch in diameter. Most GU10 240v spotlights are in fact MR16. It is not a type of base. That base is GU5.3.

This is the importance of vital timing , when you see this :

Close your eyes and open your mouth!

The spring clips however can give a nasty hit on your fingers and try not to look upward below it when you pull it down as you can get all sorts in your eyes.

By that I assume you mean flip the relevant switch off for the upstairs lighting circuit on my main board? I had already checked which switch to flick off. I have also had a look in the loft to see if I could change the connectors from the loft approach but they are not very accessible. Appreciate you can't see the job itself but would it be feasible to pull the existing wired connector down into the bathroom without having to remove the whole spotlight fitting? I am trying to see how I can do this job and so far it's looking tricky to the non-educated like me.

Ha ha. I just need to make it clear that this bathroom with it's wood clad ceiling and hideous tiles was already in the house when we moved in. The fact that we have been here 11 years just shows I am borassic and hence why I don't want to spend cash I haven't got refurbing the bathroom which in truth is what it really needs.

Hi - I take the whole fitting off the ceiling to get the transformer out of the ceiling space. But you never know
