First post in the arms.

I was asked by a building inspector that I come across every now and then to rewire his house and leave the required cables to wire his loft conversion. Anyway rewired his house in February, and was called back last week to wire his conversion, all went well until it came to the thorny issue of lighting. I mentioned to him that he could not use kingspan insulation if he wanted downlights. He looked at me as if I was stupid and he knew the regs and centre lights would be fine. Anyway I wired for the centre lights then left for a couple of weeks. When I returned last week I was ----ed off to see that he had wired to downlights. When I pulled him on it he said not to worry and his wife had nagged him into it. So I now have a dilemma, I have told him that I cant install them and cant Part P it. He has now told me not worry about certification or PP and install them anyway. Told him that i would not do that either, so we are at an impass.

Anyway he is a hypocrite because he is a nightmare of an inspector, all the builders I work with hate him.

Typical! I hate these hierarchial types, if you had done that in joe publics house and tried to get him to pass it he wouldnt have it, would he?

One rule for him and one for everyone else!
