I was looking to find out the going rate to install smoke and heat alarms in two property's. All have to be interlinked with the regulations in lettings in Scotland.

Property 1 is a 3 bedroom up and downstairs house, smokey to be installed in living room, top of hall and bottom of hall with a heat alarm in the kitchen.

Property 2 is a 1 bedroom flat. Smokey to be placed in hall, living room and heat alarm in the kitchen.

What's the going rate to wire all these together?

I fitted three smokes and one heat, all Aico mains powered off local fittings, but wireless connection between them, took me just under two hours and made £180 profit lol.

What about CO detectors?

If the flats are in Scotland, and this is a conversion, refurb or new...then they are mandatory under Scotish law 2013

CO detectors are required for private lets in Scotland (where there are gas/sf appliances obviously), but they do not require to be mains powered or interlinked with smoke/heat detectors (yet).

OP, you can't honestly expect anyone to provide an answer to your question. Get three quotes and choose the tradesman you are most comfortable with.

No one mentioned interlinked....in 2013 Scotlands reform on co detection, included new builds, hospitality, hotels, hmo, nursing homes. And concluded any new built dwelling, or dwelling where a replacement/new gas or sf appliance has been installed. Replace your boiler you need co detector.
Shame England hasn`t followed this life saving policy.

"No one mentioned interlinked..." Didn't say they had:49:, just there is quite a lot of misunderstanding amongst private landlords up here about whether CO detectors need to be mains & interlinked, so thought I'd give it a mention.
