We have this thread on TilersForums.com and it's just been restarted because the old thread had 20,000 replies and 500,000 views. And there were 700 pages. Started to lag a bit on slow connections.

I think we had a bash of this before, but I can't find the thread, so thought I'd start another one off.

If you have time in the mornings, come post in the thread before you head off to work, let us know what you've got on and what the weather is like in your area etc. Anything at all is fine. :)

Posts and likes get counted towards your total stats in this thread.

So GOOOD MORNING PEOPLE - WEATHER IS NICE TODAY IN STOKE. I'M THANKFUL IT'S FRIDAY, HAD A RUBBISH WEEK. THANK GOD IT'S OVER.

Someone’s up, all bright eyed and bushy tailed.
School run again mate. Ha

See how long this term lasts eh. School photos today so she's already peed off.

Just managed to finish before the rain. Back home today. Got to pick the mother in law up from hospital this morning so my back up pension plan isn't working 💀🤣

That's mint @Moley !

Proper stuff! What 'qty' of power would run through that then. Like should it carry and how long do they last?

I think that's over the top to supply a workshop and where is the earth spike.

The voltages are just a little bit higher than your house. The square bolted bit is what we refer to as low voltage. That's the feed in from the generator. That's only around 21,000V. (Yes, we all know that's not LV) The other side, the tall brown bushings, is the output going off to the National Grid yard. That's at 400,000V. I can't remember the rating of the transformer so can't tell you the current rating.

Morning all.

The Esteemed badge will go back to normal (he says) now I've undone my broken attempt at improving it.

I've moved it so it become a bit harder to get, and that can be the top one. And I'll put 2 lower than it to encourage newbies to get used to clicking like on stuff that helped them, in the hope they then provide advice and join in.

Tour of Britain cyle race is in West Northants today and wings through our village at about 13.40.

It's a pretty quiet morning for me. The mother in law came out of hospital yesterday so the wife is staying over with her for a few days. So, when I say quiet morning I mean noise wise. It's peaceful.

So I set the video and joined the crowd as they come through Naseby seemed to be more support and police motorcycles than competitors. Get back to watch on TV and ITV4 decided to put on adverts through our village:mad:

That'd be my luck mate that would!

They were in the Borders, Kelso last Monday, with the old cobbled streets. Which must be a hell of a ride on a racer.
You need a mountain bike to get over some of those stones.

We had the women's race come through a few years back and they came through on the downhill road into the village, the men didn't. The speed the girls came through around a tight bend was quite scary.

I’ve download Tuesdays programme to watch the Kelso stage.
Let’s have a game of “I’ve worked in that house”

Okay, well past midday but been busy. So far I've cleaned the pond and tank filters, been shopping, cooked food, washed up, sorted my timesheet, packed my bags for the week and soon I'll be leaving for the just under 4 hour drive to the weeks hotel. I'm staying at Burgess Hill this week and working at Shoreham power station. It's right next to a sewage plant so I hope the wind is blowing out to sea.

Morning all! 🌄

I used to live in Barlaston Stoke on Trent, proper nice area but has stoke on trent sewage works a field away from us. So it stank. Whenever you wanted a BBQ they'd put the smelly machine on as we called it (we now know it's more to do with overflows than the works) and we would have to go in. Managed a few years there then coudn't handle it anymore. People used to say if you don't go nose blind in 12 months you're not going to.

They hated my subarus and mitsubishi evos and stuff i had then. Noisy exhausts and always had one in bits round the back.

Subarus and Evos are after my time. When I was young I had a 1977 Camaro followed by a 1984 mk2 Astra GTE. Then came women and a Vauxhall Cavaliar

Is this the Camaro?

View: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=OiuRRX4w230

if so, awesome car! Love it.

My 2nd car was a mk2 astra, only the 1.4 though as I was only 18. That said insurance for the 18 year olds now is on another level, spoke to a guy a few weeks back who said he has a 900cc yaris because nobody will insure him even as a named driver on anything bigger until he's 25!

Not a bad start to the week - before morning coffee and just put a three week booking for Saudi in the diary, just landed out of nowhere.

Is this the Camaro?
Right shape but mine wasn't a Z28. Just a plain old Camaro. I also had a Talbot Sunbeam 1.6S at the same time. It was too expensive to drive the Camaro everywhere.
We insured my son earlier this year. He's 18 (19 next month) with a Renault Twingo. It was just over £1000 which I thought wasn't too bad considering he had just passed his test.

Ive got one ready to sit her test, and another just about to turn 17 for lessons.... the car insurance will be more for the newly passed, than for the learner...

i think im nearly 200 a month for the transporter van, rangerover evoque for wifey and me.... and all of us on a kia picanto...
Took the eldest off the insurance while she's away

I think today will be a very short working day. Two days ago I started feeling dodgy. By the end of yesterday I felt really rough. I woke up this morning to be greeted by a guy dressed in black, carrying a scythe and ridding a white horse called Binky. Yes, I've got 'manflu'.

Boooo I fell asleep 2 days ago at 6pm, then yesterday had a good wee and nearly pood myself had to sit down. Think I've got the lurg too a bit.

Friday the 13th today @Moley no wonder the reaper wants the body they've lent you back.

Noticed this morning that hair is starting to grow back on the chin areas affected by the Radio Therapy and had gone bald.

That sounds like an opportunity to grow a goatee to me mate. Sounds like you're on the mend then!

Today and tomorrow I'm on a LOLER course. Sat in a cold classroom. Hope the exam is easy at the end.

LOSER course?

Exams. Multi choice? If in doubt, it’s always “C”

Oooooh, cruel 🤣
Actually there were a few A and B answers too. Practical bit tomorrow then a drive down to Kent for Wednesday.

Have not been able to shave since April, skin far too sensitive, just give the hair a trim every now and then.

Oooooo 1pm finish on a Wednesday. Didn't know you'd gone part time 😆

I've got daughter being dropped off at school and then I'm going to do the old man's shopping (not my dad literally an 82yr old who needed help in lock down and me or lou will do his shopping.)

Waiting for a new integrated Freezer to be delivered then have the job of fitting it into the cupboard, took the old one out yesterday and had forgotten how many bits you have to fit to get it in, or out come to that, new one is a different door configuration so that will be fun.

Did not know that you can re-freeze ground beef and packed bacon if thawed out in a fridge and within two days of thawing, even chicken, looked up most things and it seems you can re-freeze most of what we tried to salvage.

Morning all!

Be careful refreezing if thawed out and you put them in freezer 24hrs before they went out of date. Then you thaw, and freeze it. That would be questionable if frozen then thawed again come cooking time. As it has had unfrozen time taking it over the 24hrs then. My wife is less fussy but she gets the farts when she does stutt like that and I have to vacate the room even the house sometimes ha

^ fussy eater me. Veggie that doesn't East much veg! Ha

Last year, when wife and me were cruising… (yeh… on a boat!), the eldest hadn’t closed the big freezer door properly, didn’t notice for a few hours, then shut it.
However, the freezer had sensed the temperature was too high, and had shut itself down…. On purpose… to not refreeze possibly defrosted food that no one knew about.

I had to diagnose the “flashing red light” on the freezer from the waters off Croatia and tell her how to reset it so it would start working again.

When we got home, we checked everything… it was only raw meat products that smelled funny once defrosted, so got binned.
Everything else was frozen veg, ice cream, home made soups, and boxes of processed nuggets, sausages, loaves of bread etc. They were all still good.

In the words of the great Victor Meldrew: " I don't believe it"

I havent been entering those online raffles for a while... it was getting harder to win, and didnt really have the disposable income handy.... but a little while ago, the "toy" one i had Lego from was doing a Wednesday Addams doll... My middle daughter has a collection of boxed dolls from the same brand, reproductions of ones she had as a child... so i entered the comp... 50p a ticket.

I told her about it, because she saw the dolls in a toy catalogue that came through the door.

That was weeks ago.

I picked her up from work today... and first thing she said was :

"um... you know that thing you told me not to do?"

"What? get a tattoo?"

"No.... entering that raffle for the doll....."

Well, she only bloody won it, didnt she.

My eldest, in South Korea, has been making herself at home there... her school is still closed to pupils at the moment, so she has been exploring her surroundings, making new friends and enjoying the food....
Shes always like kpop music.... if you think x-factor is manufactured... this is 10 times worse.... and she left all her CD's at home...
She was at a record shop in Seoull, and bought, well, basically its a CD case without a CD in it... its just a link to download the music.... but the case also holds a raffle ticket to a meet-n-greet and a signing by the group....

Well, she only bloody won it, didnt she.

This Saturday.... I'm going to buy my youngest a lottery ticket.

Fingers crossed!

Oh how I hate you. If I was the only person entering a competition I would still come 3rd 😫

On a cold, damp site today. Only 132kV. So far frightened a sleeping deer and spotted a fox.
