Got a query about how a 3 phase domestic supply is charged by the supplier. 3 phases enter the meter (digital), does this work out the actual energy used or does it mesure the highest phase and read accross the other two??

basically its a domestic supply with inballanced loads. The sockets and lighting are split off 2 phases with off peak storage on the third, not ideal. Im almost positive the customer would be far better off with a single phase supply. Any help on this is appreciated.

Regards

Graeme

Hi Graeme
The phases are metered individually in the meter as you push the button you see L1 L2 L3 then they add all 3 together to give you the bill if in doubt enter 3 phase meter in the search engine or contact DNO and they will also help but should also be marked on your bill
