The makita is more powerful(65mm wood), but i heard they have serious problems with the batteries and the gearbox.
On the other...

I have a full rewire to do on a stone (blue dolerite) terrace in Wales. Aside from the obvious (blood, sweat, tears, lots of masonry bits etc) are there any drill bits in particular that are better than others for this stuff?
There won't be much chasing required fortunately, as careful...
Hello all,
I've recently built a outhouse, and when I wired it I drilled through the roof joists, as going round the perimeter is a pain. It is in no way going to affect the structure as the roof joists are 6 by 2 and are far over specced for what they are doing or will ever do. I was hoping to...

Hi
has anyone noticed if there is much of a difference in the vibes to the user between a Rotary hammer and an AVT Rotary Hammer drill?
For example Makita HR2611F v HR2610.
I am wondering if it is worth the extra few quid for AVT (Anti Vibration Technology)

Question for any of you guys that do a fair bit of core drilling-
Do you drill with hammer action on or off ? I've got a decent enough drill ( makita 8406c 1400w)
Ive found I get better results on hammer but dont want to damage the drill ... Thoughts?
Cheers

Any thoughts on hole drilling to run cable down a stud wall, I cannot get a straight line through.

Excuse ignorance but here goes anyway.
I want to take a cable (2.5 T&E) through an external wall. Lets assume its a normal cavity wall.
My instinct would be to drill down from inside to outside (or up from outside to inside) to minimise damp ingress -maybe 10 or 15 degrees.
I would then want...
