Hi all, after a bit of advise if ok please. We have a switch which currently only powers one single LED down light in our ceiling. From this switch I would like to add a feed (already installed) to provide power to three LED wardrobe lights. Max wattage is an extra 9w on top of the current 5...
I have an issue with a home lighting circuit 6A RCBO provides power to 13 bulbs which randomly keeps tripping, when I say randomly it keeps tripping with no switches or even bulbs being attached to the circuit. Even trips when other appliances that are not on that lighting circuit are not being...
Wanting to add 2 strips of led lights down each side of underneath of the stairs,
I have a socket I can spur off, into a fused switch, been looking at angle profile, so light is better, so ideally I need a LED driver, some led strips, and a way to connect them, happy to wire/solder something...
Kitchen led lights have all of a sudden dimmed by about 30% no dimmer in the system. There are 2 switches for this set of lights. Regardless of which switch I use the lights are dimmed by about 30%. The lights will not come back up to 100%. All other lights in the circuit and through out the...
Hi everyone. I live in an older home that still has a few circuits with aluminum wiring. One of these is a lights-only circuit that contains 6 switches. All connections appear to be fine. Proper connectors and antioxidant were used for joining aluminum wires and pig-tailing copper to some of the...

I took a photograph of the old wiring set up( which was working) and used it as a guide for wiring the new one.
The lights themselves are housed in the loft above and I was wondering if a fuse has blown in the plug or that there is a reboot button somewhere.

Hi, asking for a friend in Australia.
She wants to install two Pendant lights over a kitchen island and four downlights all on the same switch.
The current wiring to the single light in the kitchen is earthed.

Hi,
I was having trouble connecting the bluetooth on my mirror so reset as per the manual by turning off at the fusebox.

Hello I have 10 spotlights in a room.
All 10 spotlights are operated by one switch.

Sure this has been answered before, can’t find a specific answer though.
My house was rewired in 2021 and as part of the rewire I had LED lights put in every room, so 70-80 in total. Now about 12 months after the rewire one of the lights in one room (4 LEDs in the room, not on a dimmer) comes on...
Hi guys.
I had an inspection yesterday, where the lighting and sockets are in one circuit for each floor.
There are 3A fused spurs for the lights. I also need to replace the consumer unit with 18th edition one.
How would you code that? Any advice on the consumer unit would be appreciated.
Thanks

Hi, I'm currently in my year of my apprenticeship looking for some help with the 2 plate method (feeding the switch). I understand it up to the point of wiring 2 way, intermediate and 2 gang with one light. But I just can't wrap my head around or think of an easier way of wiring two 2 gang 2 way...

He’s spured off an existing single gang socket and added in an FSU to control the lights.

After conducting a recent EICR I found among other things that the Galvanised columns in the carpark area of this premises seem to be connected directly to the TNCS system. Keeping in mind the potential issues should a PEN fault occur it struck me that this was maybe not the best idea. However...
Hey Everyone,
Currently at work I've been tasked with wiring the emergency lights. As I've never done it before, and my foreman wants me to learn how to do it. It's wired in a way he's not familiar with, but he eventually got his head around it. It's maintained em lights wired with normal...
I recently installed these pendant lights in the kitchen. First time doing anything electrical that is house related. Upon connecting the wires, I noticed there’s too much of a bundle for the light fixture to properly secure. Secondly, do I need a junction box for each fixture or is the metal...
