I'm currently signing off new machinery and the control panel isolator is on the side of the panel. I've always believed the handle should be on the door so the panel needs to be isolated prior to opening the door since the handle interlocks into the body of the isolator when in the 'on'...

Hi Guys (and I assume that you mostly will be guys..),
A quick introduction, I have spent most of my adult life working overseas as an aid worker, so am pretty used to surviving "less than optimal" electrical installations. But the wiring in this house that I have just moved into does seem to...

Client wants DNO to establish a service head for 6meter positions in a purpose built building for a barn conversion complex. Some of the dwellings will be in excess of 50 metres so csa would be larger than 25 mm. Assuming Core size of 50 mm , what would be the best way of terminating at each end?
Is there any regulatory restriction or guideline with regard to the positioning of a socket next to a door opening, for example minimum distance?
There is nothing in OSG about this.
Just went next door round to my neighbour to help him him out with electrical issue. He changed a fuse to a 2 way lighting circuit and now the light only works in one position. I can only assume he has put the wrong fuse in?

Hi Chaps,
Quick and simple question I'm sure for most of you:
Is there a minimum distance from a door frame for a light switch?
Was measuring up today and have marked them up 150mm from the doors.. Purely with safe zones in mind (I know this isn't a safe zone)
Thanks
I don't know if any of you have found this before. During a test today I was finding the Zs on the circuits higher than expected, I tested the loop on both sides of the main switch (new MK dual RCD board) and there was a 0.5 ohms difference!! I have had this before on an RCD and replaced the...
