Hi all,
Quick question, client would like the extractor fan for the downstairs bathroom on a separate switch, as the noise of the fan keeps them awake at night if someone uses the bathroom, however, there are no windows so not sure how this sits with the 15 minute overrun requirement. Is it good...

Hi, I am looking for some opinions before I get an electrician in so that I am a bit more clued up on the situation.
We have recently moved to a house built in the 60s, it was meant to have had a partial rewire and has had a modern CU fitted. It is a 3 bedroom house on 2 floors and from the CU...

Hello fellow Sparkys
I started a job to add 4 double sockets to an old, existing ring final circuit. But first I needed to sort out the rest of the sockets in the front of the room. Half of these were not working. The cable is old multi-stranded stuff but appears to be OK. Some of the sockets...

Does anyone know how or have any experience in regard to MCS registration for an installation where we have 3 separate systems on one roof (all under 16 amp) and 3 inverters/generation meters into the same 3 phase meter? I'm wondering how we register it with the Elec supplier?
Any help/advice...

In a "average" kitchen (say Washer, Dishwasher, Fridge/Freezer, say 4 doubles (which may be used for normal appliances, kettle/toaster/micro). What circuits do you normally put in?
I guess most people put the Freezer in is own 16a radial, and the rest on a FRC, although if all the appliances...
I have a question regarding the distribution of single phase 220 VAC branched directly from a 380 VAC 3 phase supply. I have done some research on the web, however have not been able to find a formula that exactly explains my situation, at least not clearly enough to make a solid decision.
I...

Hi guys just wondering the best way to wire ovens and hobs, I usually see hobs on their own via a double pole isolator to the side of the hob and the oven plugged into a socket mounted inside the cabinet sometimes but i dont really like the thought of that, (although mounting equipment to fixed...

I have two inverters wired to two strings. Do I need two separate wires from each inverter to an individual mcb. Or can I dual up the supply so only using 1 isolator at the generation meter end. I will still have 2 isolators in the loft adjacent each inverter. Or is it best practice to run 2...

Hi,
I have been invited to prepare a quote for a building which used to be an agricultural building. It has a 3 phase supply so a can easily take a 10kW system.
The owner of this building owns the hotel literally across the road from it.
At this point I don't know if the building has a...

Can someone please tell me if it is a breach of Regulation 314, if upstairs and down stairs lighting is on the same circuit.
Thankyou in advance for any information given.
I have a job where the easiest solution is to provide a separate CU dedicated to PV (Incidentally this is the recommended way according to NICEIC ).
In the attachment is the drawing of how I this is to be connected. I assume this is correct?
Thanks
