    Lighting Circuit Zs

I must be confused about some wording, Light circuit R1+R2 is 1.84 Ze measured = 0.28 So if I do Ze +(R1+R2) I get 2.06 Maximum Zs allowed is 6.14 actual measured Zs is 0.88 This measured Zs is much lower than the max value, I know higher is not good but lower Zs leads to any problems ??

    EICR, why oh why!

Why have section 7 - 'observations and recommendation for actions to be taken', when we now have 4 pages of 'inspection schedule'. Also this further investigation required tick box. Am I right in saying that if you've identified something as a deviation, then no need to tick as you've...

What's the most dumbed bottom thing you've ever done, Electric wise?

For me, back in the 80s, flat mate was a tube driver, we get back to our home station, Borough, he says 'When there's no train in the station, the power rails are dead, I've already done it elsewhere, go and and sit on the middle rail and touch the outer 4th rail' Me being an idiot does this...

Longest meter tails you've seen in a property?

The property I was at today meter tails need upgraded as the supply to the consumer unit ain't big enough, anyway the local authorities power supply comes in the garage to an old fashioned isolator (one of those with the handle on it) and then the meter tail comes out and travels about twenty...

What's the most you've earned in one day as a spark?

I was talking to a few guys on a house refurbishment we have been working on and we got talking about the most profit we had ever earned in one day. I earned £690 on a job that I thought would take 2 1/2 - 3 days but I managed to do it on a nice long 12 hour day. I even said to the customer...

Most embarassing thing that you've done/been caught doing!!!

Hi all, I thought that this post could raise a few laughts. So I'll start us off. I got caught having a tommy tank, over a photo of my best mate's mum, whilst I was in his bathroom, and BY his fit-as-f*** mum of all people (in my defence, my homones were ranging as I was 15 yrs old). However...

    Spurred pump from lighting circuit

Hi all. I have had a query from a client. We recently spurred a shower boost pump (400W) off of a local lighting circuit due to there being no local power circuit to connect to. We made an assessment of the lighting circuit loading, deemed it sufficiant to carry the additional load of the pump...
