Hi there, I've got a 3 phase compressor and a small 8500W single and 3 phase generator. My compressor has a large 32amp plug on it but my generator only has a 16amp socket so my question being can I swap the 32amp plug to a 16amp plug?
Sorry if this is a daft question.
Thanks guys 🙂

It is likely the compressor needs more than 16A and you might find the compressor simply stalls the generator when it kicks in. To have a better idea you would need to provide more details of the compressor and the generator.

you can change the plug, however if the compressor is more than 8Kw it will definitely overload the generator, even if it is below that, it might struggle to start.
