Really hoping to get some advice / confirm what a few of us are thinking about a job in the future.
Back ground - We have to swap over existing 3 phase meters on DBs throughout a building, however due to the nature of the clients work we are unable to kill the supply to each board...
Hi. I've read much about ac vs dc but can't find a 'simple' answer. If current alternates 50 times per second in a uk mains circuit, why do live and neutral not swap 50 time per second? On these forums, I've read that it does, so that copper does not migrate as it would in a dc circuit. I've...

Hi there…I’m hoping that someone may be able to help me identify an electrical part of my ignition. For reference I have a 1964 Toyota FJ40 with a V8 swap (1995 Chevy TBI) that I did not do. When I started it a couple of days ago the starter appeared to stay engaged and smoke started coming from...
To my understanding it would be ideal to test and inspect before energisation, but it isn't 100% necessary. If it leaves a client without power, it breaches health and safety (no power to safety services etc) or inconveniences them I'd have thought it would be reasonably practicable to turn on...

Hi
I'd like to swap a 13a fused spur for a single 13a socket as we're never going to put a fireplace in and just want to have less wire clutter.
I've swapped sockets over before without an issue but what's confused me here is that there are 2 sets of wires going into the socket (see picture)...

Been asked to change a fuse board. Its not getting moved just straight swap, do I need to be part P to do it?? (Got all other relevant qualifications).
A very small number of the powerline adapters supplied with BT Vision could have a defect. Only the DH-10P and DH-10PF models are potentially affected, and the DH-10PF is still being tested, but we thought we would take the opportunity to send updated models anyway as a precaution. If you have...
