Why do they have the same bs en number? Allways fround this odd, and surely if they where unique to each other it would save the confusions on test sheets with 3 phase feeds.
 
The BSEN specification defines the electrical and mechanical characteristics of the MCBs, single or 3 phase are just a connection variations of that same specification. One less BSEN number for the inspector to remember ... as Alexander the Meerkat says "simples".:wink5:
 
3ph MCB's are exactly the same as 1ph ones. The only difference is that there is a mechanical link between the switches so that they all operate at the same time.
